We work in conjunction with Walcot Hall providing accommodation and a homely environment for guests at the wide and varied events held at Walcot Hall.

The Powis Arms is located at the entrance to Walcot Hall - a grand country estate formerly residence to Lord Clive of India. The Main Hall at Walcot Hall overlooks parkland, an extensive lake and rolling Shropshire countryside with beautiful private gardens to the rear. The Parish family have been at Walcot since 1957 and they have always shared their family home with the outside world – it would be a shame not to with all it has to offer…

Walcot Hall is considered as one of the top wedding venues in Shropshire. With its turquoise freestanding ballroom, characterful accommodation and eclectic furnishings, it really is a feast for the eyes and perfect for unique wedding ideas. The 30 acres of grounds, including one of the finest arboretums in Britain, offer a wide variety of panoramas, floral displays and garden features including the extensive lake, walled courtyard, unusual statues and fountain. Whether guests want an outdoor wedding or to hire one of our holiday cottages for a weekend away, the vast estate makes for one of the most impressive wedding venues and memorable holiday destination within the Shropshire Hills.

The Arboretum at Walcot Hall is open from 12.00pm to 5.00pm every day except Saturdays, from April through to October. The charge is £3.00 per adult and details can be found in the car park at the main entrance to the Hall. We request that if guests staying in the Powis Arms' B&B rooms and campsite wish to look around the arboretum that they use the top entrance via the yurt car park so as not to disturb any weddings or private events that may be being held within the gardens at Walcot Hall.
